LIBERTY WINS NIAA 4A SUNRISE REGION CHAMPIONSHIP 83-65

Delgado was the name that was humming throughout the gym last night as Liberty defeated the Green Valley Gators 83-65 to advance to the state championship.
Jr. Amanda Delgado balled her way to the top of the 2011 girls list with a gutsy championship performance last night. She went 4 for 8 from beyond the  three point stripe and 10 for 18 from the field. Delgado grabbed 7 rebounds and had 4 assists. Delgado is a sneaky athlete that plays with passion and posseses strong scoring skills. She is only 5′7 but is a great athlete who elevates well on her jump shot and shoots the from the dribble equally as well. Jr. Emilia McKinney went 5 for 6 from the field and scored 12 points which was a bonus for the lady patriots.
Liberty dominated the 2nd and 3rd quarter and out scored Green Valleys’ bench 14-2.
Green Valley was lead by Senior Danielle Chistenson who stepped up big and scored 21 points and shot 4 for 8 from the three point stripe. Sr. Jazmine Jarvis scored 17 and  Sr. Sarah Pickus scored 14 points. Jarvis was named MVP of the Sunrise Conference.

Patriots Coach Quentin Lester is doing a great job with this dynamic team & will
have an opportunity to win state this year with their talent, intensity and their will to not loose.
